Hello. I’ve named this week’s music after one of my least favorite inventions.
Only because when I listened back, the movement of the song (after the intro) felt like a bunch of leaves being lifted by gusts. I didn’t have any intention to capture such a feeling when I sat down to play so this was just a feeling after the fact…
The intro uses a Rhodes keyboard sound, which gives way to a Wurlitzer sound. Switching between these or other tones when I’m playing around often unlocks inspiration. When nothing is flowing it might just mean that nothing’s gonna flow…but sometimes all it takes is a tweak in tone and suddenly things start moving.
I initially recorded this piece of music only using the Wurlitzer setting, an electric keyboard with a nice warm sound and a “crunch” or “bite” as some people say. But I like how the two tones compliment each other and thought, let's find a way to include the Rhodes in the intro. It can have a softer, smoother, sort of more delicate sound.
Hope you enjoy these tones and this short piece of music. Feel free to reply and say hello if you like!
